Atlas of Functional Neuroanatomy presents a clear visual guide
to understanding the human central nervous system. This second edition
includes numerous four-color illustrations, photographs, diagrams,
radiographs, and histological material throughout the text. Organized
and easy to follow, the book presents an overview of the CNS, sensory,
and motor systems, and the limbic system, with new and revised
material. It also features an updated, interactive CD-ROM with full
text, color illustrations, 3-D visualization, roll-over labeling, and
flash animations. Containing a glossary of terms, this is an essential
reference tool for medical and allied health professionals studying
neuroanatomy, neuroscience, and neurology.
Summary: Such a helpful book for your first neuro class!!!!
Rating: 4
I think this book is really good at giving a spatial understanding of
CNS and it contributaries. During my first two weeks of neuro, I was
getting a little worried about not having an overall understanding of
all the different parts that make up the brain and exactly how they are
situated in relation to one another and then I saw this book in the
library and it helped me have much better understanding of the big
picture and exactly how the details fits in.
Summary: Lacking in many ways
Rating: 2
Poor graphics, very little information with regard to the "functional"
piece, and the CD is just a collection of images from the book. I would
recommend looking elsewhere (e.g., Blumenfeld's "Neuroanatomy through
Clinical Cases").
Summary: CD missing
Rating: 3
The timing was perfect, they are very prompt sending the book to me as I needed it for my teaching.
However, the CD was missing, it suppose to be inside the book cover.
